The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers for the community.

SASSA might be rendering providers for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency reported it is alarmed with regards to the high number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim of the Integrated website Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some substantial range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office focused on service the area each day. The services point created for intervention ordeals a significant influx of potential beneficiaries, that makes it tricky for the office to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more sources to permit the servicing of all buyers and boost use of Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
